Zoi Katsarou

Lighting Designer | Metis Lighting, Italy

Born in Athens, Greece in 1987, Zoi studied Architecture and got a second Master’s Degree in Architectural lighting design.

After working as an architect, she specialised in lighting design and after concluding her studies in Sweden, joined the Metis Lighting team.

She has been working ever since mainly on Hospitality and Retail lighting projects, some of which is carried out in BIM. Following her particular interest in narrating light, she is often involved in the Lighting Concept Presentations, while also managing the Social Media and Communication strategies of the firm.

As a student she was part of artistic groups and associations around architecture, theatre and photography. When lighting became a focus, she approached Social Light Movement and Configuring Light, groups and practices of lighting designers that use social research tools for expanding the culture of light. She has participated in international workshops in Ireland, Sweden and UK and presented relevant work in conferences like Showlight in 2015 and [d]arc sessions, Mykonos in 2022.
