In a world where every gram of material and every gram of carbon dioxide counts, Wrapped emerges not just as a luminaire – but as a statement. It’s Fagerhult’s most sustainable pendant to date, and it didn’t happen by accident. Every detail, every decision, every material was chosen with intention.
Sustainability often starts with a simple question: What is it made of? For Wrapped, the answer is a trio of materials that each carries its own environmental story.
At Fagerhult, we first met Solid board in 2021 with Multilume Re:Think. But for Wrapped, we’ve taken it further. The material consists of a three-layer construction featuring a 100% recycled core, a renewable FSC-certified top layer, and a thin protective plastic film. All in all, a material that’s 65% recycled – and a 89% reduction in CO₂ emissions compared to virgin extruded aluminium.
“By choosing Solid board, we’re stretching the idea that a pendant luminaire must be made of aluminium. We simply asked ourselves: Can we use another renewable and recycled material that is part of an established circular infrastructure?” says Christer Liljegren, Product Manager at Fagerhult.
The few details made of plastic and metal are also sourced from recycled post-consumer materials. The result is a pendant luminaire with minimised environmental impact throughout, without compromising on light quality or design.
Designed and made in Sweden, Wrapped combines quality lighting, high efficiency, and low weight to become the company’s most climate-friendly, premium luminaire to date.
Sustainability meets affordability
Wrapped combines this premium lighting performance with a favorable price point – and makes sustainable lighting solutions accessible to a wider audience. The lighter choice of material also enabled a total weight of 1.6 kilograms (Pendant, 900 mm).
“I think the installers will appreciate Wrapped just as much as we do. It really is surprisingly light and easy to handle,” says Christer Liljegren.
The launch includes Wrapped Pendant 900 mm. The low amount of material makes it a truly sustainable choice as it performs just as good as a general 1200 mm luminaire in many applications. It is available with the Beta Opti louvre and has a 50/50 direct and indirect light distribution – and maintains excellent visual ergonomics. The product family will be expanded with additional microprism louvre, black finish & 1200mm length variants in 2026.
Wrapped – It’s not just a luminaire; it’s a statement of sustainability, innovative materials, and engineering brilliance. Unlike many products with a sustainable character, Wrapped has the confidence of not needing to stand out or act green, it simply is discrete but ahead of its time.
