US Open Opening Ceremony 2019, USA

For the televised opening ceremony of the 2019 US Open at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Centre, we lit a Broadway star-studded series of musical performances. Artists included Ben Platt, Adrienne Warren, and Ali Stroker. At the start of the performance, we created a bright and emotional look and moved into more colourful and dynamic cues as the show progressed. In addition to the light plot hung in the stadium, we also included a runway of floor units leading up the tennis court to the stage to unite the space. The lighting design created an uplifting feeling of excitement leading up to the start of the tournament.
