Inspired by the facets of a diamond, Uptown Tower stands as the crown jewel of DMCC’s iconic Uptown development in Dubai. The lighting design emphasizes the tower’s striking form, with a dynamic façade that highlights its architectural edges. This flowing lighting effect creates the mesmerizing illusion of the tower shifting and catching daylight, much like the facets of a diamond. On clear evenings, the tower is visible from 25 kilometers away, making it essential for its presence to stand out distinctly on the Dubai skyline.

Beyond the façade, the landscape and drop-off areas at the office and hotel entrances are thoughtfully illuminated to guide visitors on a captivating journey. Subtle uplighting enhances the textures of the surrounding plantings and water features, balanced by brighter lighting at the drop-off points to establish a central focal area with layered illumination.

Within the Podium lies “The Atrium,” a pedestrian-only space designed with a human-scale perspective. Special attention was given to lighting the metallic “V”-shaped threshold, creating shimmering reflections and accents that enhance the entrance experience.

Internal lighting plays a key role, providing a warm, inviting glow that underscores the bold, jewel-like architecture of the podium. A standout feature is the dichroic geometric elevator shaft, which draws inspiration from the diamond motif. Piercing through the interior and upper podium levels, it is illuminated by white light from within the lift cars and hidden side lights, creating a constantly shifting rainbow of colors and dynamic movement.

Sustainability was a key focus, with the project earning LEED Gold certification. Carefully specified lighting achieves significant energy savings and incorporates timeclocks and control sensors to meet the stringent criteria, seamlessly blending elegance with sustainability.
