Hangar C is one of the three aircraft hangars of the Hellenic Air Force in the Ellinikon area, which have been declared as New Monuments by the Ministry of Culture.

The restoration of the Hangar in less than twelve months, created one of the most visually impressive and technologically innovative visitor centres in the world, with an area of 4,800m² and five thematic zones.

The lighting scheme to the Hangar’s interior accentuates the structure in a bold and dramatic manner, whilst being discreetly integrated to the building’s architectural fabric in a respectful and completely reversible manner. The impressive lighting creates an inviting, friendly environment in which the guests can explore and discover the new Ellinikon developments.

At the same time, the exterior lighting scheme reveals the architectural volume of the hangar, highlighting the materiality and texture of the building. Architectural lighting fixtures are integrated to the lighting masts where possible or otherwise concealed from normal view.

All lighting is controlled by a sophisticated architectural lighting control system, ensuring maximum flexibility and allowing special events and functions.
