The theme of the art installation on the ceiling of the Taikoo Commercial Entrance in Qiantan is ” The wind caresses the wheat ears “. The primary factor in our design is not the specific form, but the search for a natural feeling of people in nature. We draw inspiration from the concept of natural scenery and design an intentional form of wind blown wheat waves. With the continuous flow and changes of wind and light, it ultimately transforms into a flowing natural form. The light on the ceiling is connected to the behavior of all customers passing below.

The light art installation of the suspended ceiling at the Taikoo Commercial Entrance in Qiantan focuses on showcasing the image of the commercial entrance and maintaining harmony and unity with the architectural concept; Maintain the overall coordination of commercial night scenes while becoming a highlight of the project.

By creating an integrated metal chain hidden lighting scheme and utilizing Multiple addresses independently control light strips, The effect of The wind caressing the wheat ears is created. Combined with the wind blowing through the metal chain and the lighting, multiple light and shadow combinations are achieved; There is also a position sensor installed on the ceiling to capture pedestrians, and through the lights on the metal chain of the ceiling, layers of ripples are formed. The light moves with people and presents diverse dynamic effects according to the density of pedestrian flow.

This project is already in operation, and the space still needs to be open for use during the construction process, which is also a challenge for the designers. Need to consider fast and convenient construction.

Firstly, the ceiling is designed as a curved prefabricated module that integrates the hanging lighting slots, metal chains, and light strips. Secondly, a modular unit is designed to avoid repetitive and boring shapes through staggered combinations.

Through the above processing, it can make on-site installation convenient, as well as quick assembly and suspension on site. Thus achieving lightweight construction of lighting and suspension, reducing impact on tenants and shortening construction period.

After the project is completed, it becomes an art influencer. As people walk under this installation, the sound of light, wind, and fine metal chains colliding makes people feel like being in a lush wheat field. Every interplay of light and shadow is a wonderful experience of dancing with nature.
