We divided the masterplan into 4 big categories, from 1st level illumination (the brightest) into the 4th level illumination (low level). By defining this on masterplan, it becomes our lighting guidelines when we designing the facades as well as interior lighting. We focused on key spaces where guests gather and made them stand out using local and natural materials, giving these areas a unique character. Some spots were specifically designed to deliver that “wow” moment when the resort lights up at night, creating a memorable experience.

We took inspiration from Lingko, the traditional web-shaped rice fields of Manggarai culture, which were used to allocate land among families. This idea shaped how we divided the resort, balancing active and tranquil zones. Lively areas like public spaces have brighter, vibrant lighting, while calmer spots like private villas and pathways are softly lit to enhance the peaceful vibe. By blending the essence of Lingko with thoughtful lighting, we created a space that’s not just functional but also deeply connected to its cultural roots.

By incorporating traditional materials and patterns into light fixtures while using modern technology, we collaborated with the interior designer to create custom fixtures inspired by local motifs, adding a traditional touch. These fixtures integrate current LED technology with various accessories to enhance the decorative lighting elements. Most of the featured decorative lights are crafted from brass and handmade on Java Island, showcasing rich textures and intricate craftsmanship.
