Transcendence and euphoria saturate the senses in an ethereal multi-level observation deck experience, infused with the skyline at 1,401 feet. Concealed, integrated lighting with meticulous glass systems ascend, as visitors float above the metropolis, transforming their relationship to the city, sky, people and themselves.

To attract visitors from near and far, the design curates a sequence of unique spaces and lighting to create the anticipatory, revelatory, and celebratory moments with purposeful application diffused, reflected, and accentuated lighting effects for each mood and visual sensation.

Finely-controlled dynamic colour and white lighting with a comprehensive DMX control system throughout blends and integrates light, reflections, sound, and technology throughout, create engaging visual scenes for a beckoning nighttime city experience.

Visitors begin at the below-grade entry, arriving under large circular planes of glowing ceiling that create a scale-less skyward atmosphere, with anticipation of the immersion to come. The seamless double-layer stretched fabric systems are backlit with custom-layout, panelized tunable white LEDs. Small-diameter recessed downlights in a staggered constellation pattern provide non-distracting discrete fill light between the signature glowing ceiling forms. The serene entry is quickly juxtaposed in the following darkened corridor tunnel with dynamic light and sound that pulse toward the rising anticipation of the 1,401 feet ascent – using linear LED zoned according to the horizontals and verticals of each articulated tunnel wall panel.

Mirrored elevators include programmed lighting sequences with localized DMX controllers that pulse a glowing backlit glass floor and pixel-controlled perimeter lighting channels along every corner of the mirrored floors, walls, and ceiling – performing in rhythm with a soundtrack to build intensity then calm to the airy summit ambiance, within the spatial dichotomy of the enclosed elevator cab infinitely reflecting its white lighting boundaries. Elevators open onto a “Hall of Light” curved corridor with ebbing and flowing color immersion across finely zoned RGBW backlit ceiling and coves, evoking the experience of walking into a colorful skyscape, bathed in light.

Visitors arrive at the double-height infinite reflections experience, blending the cityscape and sky during the day, and awakening with dynamic color effects at night to conjure city experiences from the sky-high overlook vantage point. Lighting blends with mirrors using custom chrome downlight trims, and tailored layout pixel-controlled RGB LED strands behind custom two-way mirrored columns – selected through multiple mockups to preserve reflectivity during day and transform to diffused pixel-controlled light at night. The dynamic lighting colours and animations spill from columns to the RGB downlights, painting patrons into the scene. Lighting works with the mirror reflectivity, high reflectance matte white Hall of Light finishes, and darkened entry tunnel surfaces to maximize lighting visual impact and immersion, while applying lights at carefully selected surfaces to meet energy and budget targets.

After a sequence of art and immersive mirror experiences, visitors arrive at the uppermost terrace level, which revisits white light circular architectural features as respite from the sensorial experience, with subdued and carefully controlled lighting, creating the undistracted visual environment for outward observation deck views atop the preceding anticipatory dynamic lighting experiences.
