RoughHewn is a series of carved aluminium light fixtures, including wall sconces, pendants and linear suspension fixtures, that are fabricated to reference rough hewn lumber. These fixtures push our two decade plus history of combining Rustic style with Modernism. Designer Christopher Poehlmann has developed an international reputation for his forward thinking use of faux bois and the RoughHewn series keeps pushing that forward. Each fixture in this series has unique carving patterns which occasionally pierce through the carved aluminium bodies of the luminaires to allow light to escape. Maticulous imperfection is the mantra for making these fixtures which all start as rational rectalinear forms akin to dimensional lumber. Lamped with LED, the RoughHewn series offers unique style as well as energy efficiency.
