The one-day exhibition “REBIRTH” by independent luxury brand Khris K transformed the space ‘Armazém Soul’ in Lisbon into an immersive, sensorial experience. Despite the challenges of a temporary setup and limited installation time, the event successfully conveyed a narrative of resilience, hope, and renewal, intertwining the visionary artistry of designer Khrystyna Kurliak with the expressive power of light.

Rooted in Ukraine and now based in Portugal, Khris K stands for strength, optimism, and sustainability. Every aspect of “REBIRTH” reflected these values, from handcrafted, exclusive garments to the use of eco-conscious materials. More than just an exhibition, the event became an experiential space where light, nature, and fashion converged to tell a profound story of transformation.

Bridging disciplines, professionals, and artistic visions the curators, the founder of the brand and fashion designer Khrystyna Kurliak, the event manager Claudia Garcia and the lighting designer Martina Frattura, managed to tur light into an active medium shaping the dialogue between craftmanship, ethics, and spatial design. Collaborating with lighting designer Camila Grimaldi, floral design studio Otto by Alla Stefanyk, and event supplier Lang Solutions Audiovisuais, the team reimagined the venue as a living landscape.

A Ukrainian forest materialized within the space, brought to life by the dynamic interplay of light. A waterfall projection became a focal point, enhancing the sense of movement, fluidity, and natural rebirth, while being led by he light to walk “back to the source” through a metaphorical river. Representing life’s journey, and visually reinforced through linear luminaires creating a chase effect, it guided visitors through the exhibition as if following the ebb and flow of water.

One of the exhibition’s design challenges was ensuring synchrony between ecological and technological elements. Working with a sustainable floral design company was essential in crafting a forest of scents and shades, while a specialized event lighting provider ensured the seamless integration of illumination. Flexibility and adaptability were key, as installation and dismantling had to be completed within just one day.

The choice of lighting was dictated by these constraints. A battery-operated, WiFi-DMX-controlled system replaced traditional wired solutions, significantly reducing installation time while allowing last-minute adjustments.

In just one day, REBIRT left a lasting impression, affirming the boundless potential of light as a medium of expression, transformation, and connection. It was a testament to the power of interdisciplinary collaboration—where art, technology, and sustainability merged to create an ephemeral yet unforgettable journey.
