Project Sherlock is a remarkable mixed-use development featuring a striking 15-storey office tower, complemented by two levels of basement parking, meticulously restored conservation shophouses, and an elegant 4-storey podium. With a total Gross Floor Area (GFA) of approximately 66,680 sqm, this project embodies the harmonious integration of modernity and heritage.
Constructed in the early 2000s, the building has been situated at the crossroads of modern office buildings and historic shophouses. The client has embarked on an ambitious refurbishment to cultivate a vibrant atmosphere that resonates with both locals and tourists. This vision artfully bridges Singapore’s contemporary architectural splendor with the storied charm of Chinatown, crafting an inviting and dynamic urban experience.
The main façade, prominently situated on a bustling thoroughfare, required a lighting design that captivates both pedestrians and motorists, particularly those navigating during peak traffic. Our innovative approach focused on the 45-degree façade elements that elegantly define the intersections surrounding the property, ensuring a visually stimulating experience from all angles.
The façade transformation is both striking and respectful of the area’s historical context. Collaborating seamlessly with architects and façade consultants, our lighting design is seamlessly woven into the aluminium cladding, infusing the building with life as day transitions into night. Each luminaire has been carefully selected to enhance the architectural features, casting dramatic shadows and highlighting textures that celebrate the building’s heritage.
The lighting design prioritises sustainability through the use of circular luminaires, which reduce energy consumption and promote an eco-friendly ethos. To ensure user comfort, advanced glare control measures have been implemented, creating a welcoming environment for all.
The completed redevelopment stands as a luminous beacon in the heart of Singapore’s Central Business District (CBD), showcasing the architectural elegance of Project Sherlock while elevating the overall urban landscape. This project not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the area but also enriches the community experience.
