Pharos DMX Record is a free, standalone utility for capturing multiple universes of sACN or Art-Net lighting data. Enabling the capture of complex lighting programming from entertainment lighting consoles, DMX Record allows intricate lighting data to be imported into Pharos Designer software for configurable automated playback on Pharos LPCs, their reliable and installation-friendly family of lighting controllers.

Console operators and designers can download DMX Record and capture their programming. Recorded data can be reviewed and trimmed in DMX Record, and metadata – such as lighting sequence descriptions and patch information – embedded into the recording ready to be shared with the programmer of the installation lighting project.

DMX Record can capture up to 16 universes of eDMX simultaneously, for up to 30 minutes per capture. Offering a huge level of flexibility, users can start and stop recordings based on specific channel values, manual triggers, or time-based criteria.

Recordings are created with flexibility in mind and can be adjusted in the manufacturer’s software even after the data has been captured. Whether it’s selective playback of specific components of a recording, or real-time adjustment of parameters like colour, gobo and beam; recordings are stored in such a way that lighting effects are not set in stone when the stop button is pressed.

With DMX Record, Pharos has taken a sustainable approach to minimise environmental impact through efficient resource utilisation. Delivered as a free software utility and compatible with every Pharos Designer controller, DMX Record has been skilfully engineered to perform not just on the company’s latest controllers, but also on hardware produced over a decade ago.

With DMX Record, a site’s existing Pharos controller can handle special events which would otherwise require an additional control system. By using DMX Record, Pharos users can avoid emissions associated with hiring, delivering, powering, and operating a second control system.
