Paradise Green is a truly epic-sized hospitality venue from the Daisy Collection, an all-day bar, restaurant and café in the very heart of the City of London. A contemporary art-filled venue of two sides – ‘Sunrise’ and ‘Sunset’ – paying homage to the gorgeous golden beaches, early mornings and sultry nights of Surfers Paradise in Australia. Each side has its own entrance and distinct personality, connected by a staircase up and down from a 3,000 sq foot mezzanine with buzzy kitchen, pizzeria and high-concept private bar and group dining zone for 40. The Mezzanine PDR is encapsulated within an art installation by artist Lucy Sparrow, which used to feature at the Saatchi Art Gallery.

The new venue’s design concept is grounded in golden Sunrises and electric Sunsets; inspired by Owner Prue Freeman’s time on the Gold Coast and her morning beach trips to Surfers Paradise. The design team worked with Prue and fellow owner Tom Onions to concept interior forms which would bring this to life, with dramatic curves and 80s-inspired dancefloor angles; full of beach-soaked glamour, pared-back with industrial notes and pattern-clash textiles.

It’s the third Daisy venue designed by Run For The Hills, following their design work on Bondi Green and Scarlett Green in Soho. Like other Daisy sites, Paradise offers guests early morning breakfasts through lunch, dinner and post-Midnight DJs and Live Music.

Paradise’s street-side entrance is home to ‘Sunrise’, accessed from the hustle and bustle of BISHOPSGATE. A destination bar / restaurant, with an amazingly airy, double-height space, filled with XL artworks by Bonnie & Clyde and oversized pendants. The bar design concept is pure Golden Age Deco with dramatic sunshine-meets-rainbow arches and stepped shelves, in pale concrete, softly mirrored and illuminated, highlighted with a specialist decorative gilt wall finish by Tabby Riley. The fluted bar front is softly washed with warm light with an ultra-glamorous, darkly seamed marble countertop, with luxurious double bullnose edge. Decorative floor tiling zoning the bar is fresh in a mix of blush and ivory tones with bar stool fabrics in a joyous pattern clash mix with banquettes and booths in a fresh palette of Miami pinks, blues and blushes.

Away from the hustle and bustle of BISHOPSGATE, Sunset Bar and Restaurant, on the other side of Paradise, is set within the quiet courtyard of 100 Bishopsgate, with its own access and large al fresco terrace. By contrast to the freshness of Sunrise Bar, Sunset is richly designed in darker tones for atmospheric drinks and partying by night. Run For The Hills’ 80s electro ‘Ziggy Stardust’ inspired bold back bar design is a giant fabric stretched lightbox artwork (made up of 32 individual panels which can pulse and fade to create multiple moods and effects). Run For The Hills’s bar design concept was given to acclaimed Artist Justin Hibbs, to turn into a show-stopping, illuminated bespoke light-art-installation.
