The lighting design of the space focuses on highlighting the architecture, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a temple, imbued with a profound sense of grandeur and reverence. This concept is ideal for the VIP reception and lounge of Panathinaikos at OAKA. The design balances light and shadow, with dynamic contrasts enhancing the dramatic essence of the space, while state-of-the-art lighting solutions underscore the architectural elements.
The central marble statue serves as a focal point, with a combination of indirect and directional lighting accentuating the material’s texture and details, highlighting its monumental presence. Vertical surfaces, inspired by ancient Greek colonnades, are subtly illuminated to create depth and a sense of repetition. At the same time, the space’s functionality is ensured, facilitating movement and orientation for visitors.
The light’s texture, the balance of intensities, and the uniform arrangement create a harmonious environment. The design minimizes glare, reduces shadows, and captures light within recesses, forming striking contrasts that enhance the perception of height. The application of advanced LED technologies achieves precision and energy efficiency, imparting a scenographic character to the space.
The final result honors architectural heritage while embracing innovation, offering visitors a unique aesthetic and experiential journey.
