The historic building that houses the town hall of Nichelino has undergone restoration followed by a new lighting project, giving the structure a role as a luminous backdrop to Piazza G. Di Vittorio, where it faces.

The lighting project, approved by the Superintendent for Cultural Heritage, strikes a balance between enhancing certain architectural elements of the palace and respecting the overall balance of the facade. The overall effect is achieved through two types of lighting solutions that come into play depending on the time of day: in the early evening hours, architectural light positioned on the facade adds three-dimensionality to the building, highlighting its materials and details; as darkness increases, additional distant lighting is added to soften the shadows.

The latter also creates colorful light scenarios used by the municipality for special occasions. The effect obtained with the colored background light and the white grazing light is very poetic.

The two lighting solutions balance two opposing effects: on one hand the drama of the chiaroscuro, given by the grazing light, on the other hand a general lighting of the projected light.
