The Whitegoods 20 Linear family is the most complete range of small-scale linear fittings and integration profiles for illuminating interiors. This range was conceived to apply the right quality and quantity of light to a space, while minimizing the source of the light and eliminating obtrusive light spill. 20 Linear is the most flexible architectural lighting tool developed to allow designers to work with light in an instinctive way and the range includes coves, coffers, perimeter wash and seamless lines.
Mini Edgeless Cove + 20 Linear Direct (MEC+20L) was developed to bring two of our most innovative products together to create a completely unique fixture for providing light to the ceiling above, as well as the surface below. MEC+20L is a continuous plaster-in knife-edge cove system that delivers an even wash of directed light upward, and redirected light to softly illuminate the back of the cove. A slim, recessed line of light at the bottom edge of the cove provides direct illumination and highlights the perimeter of the ceiling opening. The light source is positioned to deliver the optimum vertical spread of illumination.
When soft, diffuse light comes from above, a natural feel is imparted, since the vast majority of natural light we experience originates from above. By integrating the luminaire into the ceiling and hiding the source of light, the occupant of the space realizes a very soothing and glare-free environment. This technique suits hospitality, lobby, conference room, residential and large-area settings especially well.
MEC+20L, like many other Whitegoods products, has an internal LED tray assembly, remote drivers, and field replaceable LED boards. It is ETL and ETL-C certified for dry and damp locations and designed to hold true to the constant principles of Whitegoods:
