The Marissa holiday resort is located in Lembruch; the small community lies by the Lake Duemmer in the rural District of Diepholz in Lower Saxony. The resort offers holiday homes including conference and wellness areas that can be used in the main building of the resort.

Originally, only an idea for the lighting design for the atrium was requested. With each conversation between client and lighting planner, additional requirements were defined. Finally the light in almost the entire building was redesigned.

The building complex can be booked for a variety of events. The lighting concept includes invisible basic lighting, elegant light coves, recurring pendant lights and visible light lines. These elements are carefully integrated into the various areas of the building and are repeated to create a harmonious connection between them.

The lighting is designed to be as versatile as the atrium with its generous glass facade. Whether rows of seats or festively decorated tables: good and user-friendly lighting is always guaranteed. The lighting of the vertical wall surfaces by hidden light coves creates an inviting atmosphere. Light lines built into the wall surfaces create a visible effect and can be played with various lighting scenes, including colored lighting.

In the adjacent catering area cove lights and downlights carefully integrated into the wooden ceilings ensure glare-free lighting. This can create atmospheric or stimulating light depending on the customer’s wishes.

A separate entrance leads to the swimming pool and sauna area.

In the swimming pool, round cove lights up to 3 meters in size attract attention and provide exciting lighting for the water park. These cove lights in combination with round, narrow-beam downlights create a visual connection to the catering area.

On the first floor there is a large sauna area with an outdoor whirlpool. When visiting the roof terrace in the evening, the hidden line of light allows an unobstructed view over the Lake Duemmer.

Wood is a recurring element that connects the different areas of the buildinging. In the sauna area, wooden walls separate different areas and are accentuated by light coves in the ceiling and floor areas. In the gastronomic areas pendant lights above the tables and service counters put the food and drinks in suitable light.

Glare-free illumination of the reclining areas in the sauna lounge is crucial for a relaxing and pleasant ambience. The spacious relaxation area consists of wooden platforms that create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The use of indirect lighting and carefully placed lights create a gentle, even distribution of light.

While some visitors can immerse themselves in the relaxing atmosphere of the SPA area, work is still being carried out in the conference rooms, which are also located in the main building. Depending on the work task the light can be used in accordance with DIN standards for a professional workshop or for cozy lighting at a yoga retreat.

The lighting concept thus meets the diverse and changing needs of the different areas of use in the building complex
