The lighting design for Malka in West Palm Beach, Florida is carefully crafted to enhance the dining experience while aligning with the restaurant’s fiery theme. Inspired by the warmth and intensity of fire, the lighting serves not only as a functional element but also as a key part of the ambiance. We aimed to capture the essence of fire—its warmth, intensity, and comfort—while creating a layered experience that supports the dynamic nature of the space.
The light falling on the concrete bricks further adds to the contrast between the raw, elemental materials and the refined glow of the lighting, enhancing the overall experience.
The goal was to highlight the dynamic relationship between the open kitchen with its impressive wood-burning oven and grill, and the intimate dining spaces, while creating distinct zones within the restaurant that cater to both large group dining and more private, intimate gatherings.
