Golden Steamlight Desklamp - Lightexture

The Golden Steamlight Desklamp is an adjustable lamp providing intimate golden patterned lighting as well as a flexible task light.

Part of the Steamlight family of adjustable light fixtures, based on the ready-made industrial steamer which operates as an iris, they function in a unique way to adjust and control light (patent 8,025,430). Inspired by the camera iris, ready-made and Islamic architecture, this line is a distinctive collage of low and high culture that cast patterned light onto space, transforming its surroundings. The Steamlight lamps provide two types of light simultaneously: a patterned ambient light; and a direct adjustable task light beam.

The Golden Steamlight leaves are both reflective and perforated, creating distinct light patterns, casting reflected golden light that baths the space in dimpled gilded hues. The lamp-head operates as an iris, that allows for enlarging or reducing of the central light beam. This lamp gives the user agency to manually control their environment, allowing one lamp to generate an array of different lighting conditions and environments.
