Miniature Motorless Biophilic Interior Lighting

The Folia & Unda design originated from a desire to bring subtle, nature-inspired movement into interior architecture—a light that evokes light filtering through leaves (Folia) and the gentle ripple of water (Unda) without relying on visible moving parts.

Traditional dynamic lighting systems often rely on motors or mechanical components, introducing noise, visual clutter, or maintenance challenges. Folia & Unda delivers motorless dynamic patterns from a compact 35 mm, 8 Watts, light-emitting area, producing natural, evolving light while remaining visually and acoustically silent.

Simplicity, reliability, and minimal points of failure were key drivers. The ultra-compact design allows seamless integration into interior ceilings, enabling the fixture to blend into architecture while providing precise, controlled light.

The optical system translates natural phenomena into subtle, evolving patterns that evoke calm, biophilic ambience. Its soft movement enriches spatial perception, enhancing hospitality, wellness, retail, or gallery environments while remaining visually comfortable.

Connectivity and flexibility were central to the design. Folia & Unda integrates effortlessly with DALI, DMX, or Casambi, allowing designers precise control over intensity, beam angle, and light themes without disrupting existing systems.

The result is a biophilic, motorless architectural downlight that disappears into ceilings, offering designers a flexible, reliable, and immersive lighting tool that brings natural movement indoors.
