DANCE TOGETHER: A brand new commission bringing together artistic studio Lucid Creates with Chibuku to mark the 21st anniversary of the iconic club night at Liverpool Pier Head.
Dance Together is a brand new collaborative experience between the artistic partnership Lucid Creates and Chibuku, commissioned by Culture Liverpool for their River of Light Festival. For 17 days, from 22.10.21, the legendary club night will take over Lucid Creates’ latest artwork, TOGETHER, in a celebration of Chibuku’s 20 years at the forefront of the UK club scene.
This immersive audio visual experience brings together archive music from some of the most celebrated nights in the Chibuku’s history alongside a collation of anecdotes & memories and brand new poetry created by multimedia artist Suzannah Pettigrew whilst legendary Chibuku DJs provide the soundtrack to this long-awaited celebration of togetherness.
Dance Together is an homage to club culture. To the families we choose and the family that chooses us. This is a place to celebrate the Chibuku community and its lasting relevance and importance to electronic music around the world.
This celebration of club culture will be accompanied by a collection of images from across the 21 years of Chibuku in the atrium of the Museum of Liverpool.
