The renovation of three private clubs in Citi Field stadium in New York City required luxurious design commensurate with their exclusivity. Warm, residential-inspired lighting fosters an inviting and intimate atmosphere. To ensure cohesion between spaces, uniform color temperature and low-level lighting are used throughout, which also creates a welcoming customer experience. Dynamic lighting enhances the chic atmosphere that defines these clubs, setting them apart from public areas. Paying homage to The Mets, the design seamlessly weaves the team’s identity into the fabric of the spaces, balancing brand integrity with an air of elegance.
For the Cadillac Club, warm low-level lighting is used to create an engaging space without distracting from the gameplay as the club is open to the field. Hanging planters are outfitted with linear lights to graze the greenery which harmonizes the interior and field views. Linear lights at the backbar archways highlight intricate metalwork and draw attention to one of the team’s signature colors, a royal blue. The interplay of warm light on the wood bar fascia with the cool blue enhances the team branding, creating a striking visual balance. Small bullet lights in the base of the tree and columns bring this giant stadium to a more human level. The lights cast warmth on the patrons, making them feel more at home and rooted in the space, improving their game watching experience.
The Empire Club, inspired by classic NYC Art Deco, uses linear lighting to emphasize the texture and natural tones of the space through light. Integrated light fixtures at the hanging stemware turns the glass storage into a dynamic decorative element that allows guests to immerse themselves in the space.
The Delta Sky 360 Lounge has cove lighting across the perimeter creates the illusion that the wall is infinite. The light is an indirect source to create a gentle wash across the preserved greenery. This space, with its emphasis on a more connected atmosphere, required softer lighting. To create cohesion, the design in the bar fascia echoes the related treatments in other spaces. The light traces two different planes, accentuating the shape of the stonework. The club bar behind Homeplate features an RGBW pixel DMX-controlled linear striplight array as its centerpiece. The dynamic lighting shifts in color and intensity based on time and events, adding an experiential element that evokes energy and excitement, embodying the spirit of the game and the space’s exclusivity.
