CÉ LA VI is more than a hospitality brand—it’s a lifestyle experience.

The brand has earned a reputation for elevated experiences at iconic rooftop locations, including Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands, Dubai’s Address Sky View and now London’s Paddington Square.

CÉ LA VI merges luxury, culture and nightlife into a cohesive identity. Each venue reflects the local spirit whilst maintaining a consistent global aesthetic: bold, immersive, and sensorial.

Working in partnership with Lightingspiration and Skyelume, Quasar played a central role in expressing CÉ LA VI’s identity through the development and production of dramatic light fixtures for CÉ LA VI London.

Set across the top two floors of Renzo Piano’s Paddington Square landmark, the prominent site is West London’s highest rooftop venue with views capturing famous landmarks such as The London Eye, The Shard and Hyde Park.

Bespoke statement chandeliers from Quasar’s iconic Jan Pauwels collection were specially commissioned as part of the scheme; Pollux (globally recognisable following an appearance alongside Daniel Craig in the Knives Out:Glass Onion movie) was placed purposely over the bar (including red cubes originally developed by the film’s set designer, which tie in perfectly with CÉ LA VI’s branding), creating a stunning central focal point.

On the second floor, no fewer than twenty-six Frame chandeliers were perfectly positioned close to the ceiling, where a combination of double sided 2400K PCB LED light sources and reflective ceilings maximise the warmth and spirit of CÉ LA VI.

Finally, the truly exclusive Spectre chandelier was set over the venue’s most exclusive table, boasting the best views of the restaurant, and the London skyline.

From the initial brief to completion, the project timeline was lengthy and complex – After receiving the original lighting schedule in November 2023, over the next 18 months, despite budget constraints, a flexible, pragmatic and collaborative design approach forged a crucial understanding between stakeholders. This approach informed the design team of Quasar’s bespoke possibilities to ‘value engineer’ within the original designs and was fully embraced, allowing the team to prioritise visual effect and feasibility over rigid specifications, with the final product specifications below:

Pollux – Cube sizes were increased from 12.5cm to 15cm – this meant fewer LEDs but kept the same overall fixture size.

Spectre – The 5-tier version became a 4-tier version.

Frame – The 165cm version became a 111cm version.

Creative budget engineering without lowering the effect of the final design aesthetic was key to realising this project. The collaboration exemplifies Quasar and Lightingspiration’s commitment to work alongside lighting designers to achieve the best result within high (but not unlimited!) budget venues – The team are proud to have contributed to West London’s highest exclusive dining experience, a truly incredible venue.
