Designed to prioritise atmosphere and perception over the presence of luminaires, Axis Recessed allows designers to shape space with light itself.

The system is defined by miniaturisation. With light heads measuring just 17mm in diameter and weighing only 40 grams, Axis Recessed achieves an exceptional reduction of material while maintaining precise optical control. The result is lighting that seems to float free of the ceiling, particularly effective in subdued environments such as galleries, hospitality interiors or high-end commercial spaces, where focused accents gain strength through contrast rather than sheer brightness.

Designed for recessed installation beyond hands reach, Axis Recessed is engineered to operate at a higher drive current. An adapted PCB supports effective thermal management, enabling increased luminous output while retaining the system’s compact dimensions. This allows Axis Recessed to extend beyond intimate accent lighting and to be used confidently in taller showcases, exhibition walls and integrated furniture elements where higher illuminance is required.

Flexibility is central to the system’s appeal. Axis Recessed spotlights are available with one to four light heads, enabling scalable lighting compositions from a single aperture. Despite being recessed, the luminaires offer a level of adjustability comparable to track-mounted solutions. Each head can be tilted and precisely aimed, allowing light to be directed with accuracy even after installation. Interchangeable lenses with three beam angles, along with clip-on filters and accessories, support refined accentuation of decorative objects, artwork and architectural details.

The system lends itself naturally to hospitality environments. In hotels, bars and restaurants with low ceilings, Axis Recessed is visually discreet while providing clear points of focus. In dimmed bars, only low luminous intensity is needed to create striking highlights, and the discreet optics ensure that glare does not disrupt the atmosphere. Special colour finishes allow the luminaires either to recede into surrounding surfaces or to introduce subtle visual accents where desired.

Axis Recessed is also well suited to ancillary areas such as office meeting booths, where compact, efficient accent lighting is required without visual distraction. Separate control gear enables integration into DALI systems or wireless control via Bluetooth Casambi, supporting both professional lighting management and straightforward stand-alone solutions.

Sustainability is embedded in the product’s construction. The housing uses recycled aluminium, while low wattages and an efficacy of up to 104 lm/W (3000K, spot) support

energy-efficient operation. Minimal material use further reduces environmental impact, reinforcing the system’s alignment with responsible design principles.
