The Alabaster Stone Slope Pendant Light embodies Industville’s response to the evolving direction of lighting design. It explores unexpected materiality within our signature industrial forms, introducing both luminosity and softness into our design language. Stone is not an obvious choice for lighting, which is exactly what drew us to it. We wanted to challenge expectations while remaining true to the structural clarity and function that define our work.

Brass accents hold a translucent alabaster cone shade, suspended above a softly glowing alabaster globe
diffuser. It celebrates contrast at its most elegant – where crisp, geometric lines meet the organic allure of alabaster. This interplay of sculpted forms and natural stone creates a harmonious balance of structure and warmth, creating an atmosphere that feels both warm and intimate.

From the sculptors of ancient Greece to designers today, alabaster has long been valued for its unique light modulating quality. The Alabaster Stone Slope Pendant celebrates this material, infusing the brand’s signature industrial silhouettes with a modern softness and quiet luminosity. Robust, architectural forms have been reimagined beyond pure function, becoming a piece that shapes the mood of a room, bringing a piece of the earth that illuminates and inspires.

Celebrated in architecture and sculpture for centuries, alabaster is renowned for its unrivalled ability to diffuse light from within, allowing it to permeate the surface like sunlight through a cloud. The subtle veining and tonal variation give each pendant a living quality, creating layered illumination that glass or synthetic materials cannot replicate. No two pieces are the same, with unique marbling and colourations offering character while its soft glow fosters calm, inviting interiors. This sense of individuality aligns closely with our handcrafted production process, where each light is assembled, finished, and checked by hand. Whether the uniqueness comes from the material itself or from the craft of the person working with it, every piece carries its own quiet character.

Ideal for modern, minimalist interiors seeking a quiet sense of luxury, alabaster lighting adds texture and visual interest without disturbing simplicity. In urban or industrial spaces, the brass finish complements metal and concrete, while the stone’s warm translucence softens rigid lines and brings a sense of tranquillity to the environment. They work perfectly in spaces such as bedrooms and living rooms, where they create soft pools of light that invite relaxation and evoke the comfort of a “hotel at home” in residential spaces. They also suit hospitality settings like bedrooms, lounges, lobbies or boutique suites, adding a luxurious, calming ambiance. In restaurants and cafés, they create intimate corners, dining areas and bars where gentle illumination encourages lingering.
