At TLS Lighting Design, we embarked on an illuminating journey with Root On Immigration Consultants. Relocated from Montreal, Canada to Surat, India by its insightful owner, Ronak Patel, this project was not just about lighting a space but about narrating a journey of cultural bridging and personal growth and not compromising on the professional atmosphere it should reflect.

Ronak, with his background in UI/UX design, envisioned his office as a medium that blends the values of India with the inclusivity and freedom of Canada. He sought a design that was minimalist yet profound, where lighting wasn’t just functional but a storyteller. Our goal was to reflect this vision through a subtle, elegant, and minimally invasive design, using lighting as the primary tool to convey Ronak’s inspiring journey.

Ronak Patel states, “We never had a specific budget for lighting, focusing more on functionality within our tight budget constraints. Krutika’s expertise at ‘The Light Story’ transformed our vision into reality, surpassing expectations without overburdening our finances. Her passion and meticulous work are evident, striking a perfect balance between minimalism, functionality, and storytelling. Our clients continually appreciate and remind us of the impactful ambiance she created.”

No false ceiling on the 60% site was the major constraint for TLS as we lost our freedom to use the indirect lighting in the central zone with 13 ft height and a glass facade.Though we had huge space to lit we took advantage of the daylight through glass facade and selected fixtures with nominal wattage not making space too hot with high wattage to get the required footcandles on the surface.Using anti glare fixtures was must to get the comfortable vision zone. This design choice not only adhered to budget constraints but also enhanced the energy efficiency of the space. The interior design team also helped us a lot in navigating through the whole process with almost freedom.

A centerpiece of our project was the artistic depiction of Ronak’s journey from Canada to India. We complemented this artwork with a customized LED installation, symbolizing significant milestones in his life. This integration of art and light not only added a dramatic flair but also served as a narrative of Ronak’s journey, inviting clients into his world. Our design leveraged natural light, reducing the reliance on artificial lighting and contributing to significant energy savings. The thoughtful placement of task lights and strategic use of daylight exemplified our commitment to sustainable and cost-effective design solutions. The acoustical pods in the central space, highlighted with dramatic downlights, created a visually striking and functional area.

This project stands as a testament to the transformative power of lighting design. Our project at Root On Immigration Consultants not only fulfilled its functional purpose but also became a narrative medium, capturing the essence of Ronak’s journey and the values he cherishes.
