In November 2022 LightGraphix, were pleased to launch the new LD50 path light, leading the way in innovative pathway and landscape lighting. The LD50 has been designed in collaboration with Sanjit Bahra, Principal at lighting design consultancy DesignPlusLight.

DesignPlusLight felt there was a gap in the market for discrete, low-glare pathway lighting that met all of their needs for residential and hospitality landscape projects. After briefing LightGraphix on their ideal requirements, they considered how they could bring this vision to life, developing the product around the aesthetics and technology of their existing LD96 and LD97 exterior wall washers and wider miniature range.

One of the unique features of the LD50, is that it provides a broad illumination from a very compact fitting. It can be specified with two brilliantly diffused oval beam angle options of 18° x 37° (OB) and 46° x 80° (EOB). The extra oval beam is supplied with an integral 20° tilt film to direct the light out towards the pathway and away from the stem of the fitting, whilst the 90° adjustable head remains horizontal for ultra-low glare.

With an extra wide distribution, less fittings are required on a project to achieve an even floor wash resulting in less materials being used, which forms part of LightGraphix’s sustainable design ethos. This also prompted the inclusion of a repairable LED engine. Essential in landscape lighting, the low-level LD50 is an excellent solution for achieving extremely low light pollution, as it focuses the light only where it is needed with no upwards spill.

To maintain a discreet design, the cable has been hidden within the ground spike, with an exit hole positioned so that it can be buried slightly below ground level. Painted in-house at LightGraphix there is an unlimited choice of wet spray and powder coated RAL colours to suit the requirements of any project.

As part of LightGraphix’s collaborative approach to working with lighting designers, they were thrilled to work alongside DesignPlusLight, who were able to help fine-tune elements of the LD50 through the design process, providing valuable feedback. This successful collaboration has enabled the creation of a robust, low glare, circular solution for exterior pathway and landscaping applications, that will not only meet the needs of DesignPlusLight, but also the wider lighting community.
