Inspired by the modern, clean-line, and high-contrast Gensler design approach, Design One wanted integrated a fresh feeling of illumination in this 50,000 square-foot lobby of this prestigious 39-story financial building in New York City. Originally part of the western expansion of Rockefeller Centre, this large lobby was not only a circulation of “corporate America,” but a resource for artists to display their work. It was then we adapted a 3500 Kelvin colour temperature into space, allowing a true representation of the artwork’s colour while maintaining the Architect’s clean and contemporary concept.
In addition, even illumination and the presentation of repetition and quantity of fixtures in the layout were key design principles aiding in this vast, modern visual aesthetic of the space.
