Lighting design study for the urban development of the “Ban de Gasperich” area in Luxembourg: public and landscape lighting within the blocks and courtyards.

This project required a close coordination with the landscape architect (general concept and luminaires integration), the architect (façade lighting, entrance lighting and access point) and with the technical and control services in accordance to emergency lighting standards.

Our approach is very minimalistic, by looking to preserve as much obscurity as possible and providing light only where required. We have developed various lighting atmospheres according to the character of the different spaces to provide a richer variety of experiences while walking around or crossing the area. We have, for instance, enhanced the domestic function by proposing warmer light sources within the courtyards.
