The The Red Sea EDITION is a luxury resort within Shura Island. The lighting design establishes a controlled, layered scheme that reinforces architecture, spatial hierarchy, and material expression while responding to the site’s stringent environmental requirements.

Public and semi-public zones are articulated through calibrated contrasts rather than uniform brightness. Vertical surfaces are subtly washed to define scale, while focused accent lighting reveals texture in stone, timber, and bespoke finishes. Circulation spines are legible through hierarchy of light levels, brighter at key thresholds and reception points, softer within transition zones. This allows guests to intuitively understand the spatial sequence without overt visual cues.

Exterior lighting adopts a romantic, restrained language. Warm color temperatures and low-level luminaires create an intimate atmosphere, with carefully placed accents highlighting landscape features, architectural recesses, and curated moments along primary and secondary paths.

All exterior elements are precisely shielded and oriented to minimize up-light, glare, and spill, aligning with dark-sky principles and ecological preservation targets.

The outcome is a technically resolved lighting strategy that balances guest experience, operational performance, brand positioning, and  environmental compliance, delivering an atmosphere that is both emotionally engaging and environmentally responsible.
