Redevelopment of Place de la Monnaie: Light Between Technology and Poetry

The redevelopment project for Place de la Monnaie is part of the City of Pau’s lighting charter, with a dual imperative of functional coherence and visual identity.

Cutting-Edge Technical Expertise To meet the city’s stringent requirements, the entire district was precisely modeled using Dialux. This 3D rendering made it possible, from the preliminary design phase, to reconcile technical constraints (ensuring the safety of road, cycle, and pedestrian traffic) with the project’s aesthetic intentions. A Dreamlike Narrative The ambition goes beyond simple lighting: it aims to tell the story of the city through a luminous fresco projected onto the castle’s glacis. Inspired by the art of medieval and Renaissance tapestry, the concept transforms the nighttime journey into an invitation to travel. Between history and fantasy, these light displays create a unique signature, offering visitors an experience that is both historical and poetic.
