The lighting design for Lu restaurant, part of the Lubich Hotel in Lviv, is housed in a historic late 19th-century building and combines the historic character of the space with contemporary lighting design. The aim was to create an atmosphere that emphasises the sophistication of the interior and ensures the comfort of guests throughout the day.

The concept is based on dynamic lighting control: integrated biodynamic lighting changes the temperature and intensity of the light according to the time of day, emphasising the mood of the restaurant. Delicate spot lighting is used to accentuate materials and architectural details, directing visitors’ gaze to important elements of the space.

Unique custom solutions include shadow lamps that create patterns of light and shadow on the ceiling, and a caustic lamp in the VIP area that creates a smoke and wave effect on the ceiling. A special highlight is the 7-metre glass light column created by a creative glassblowing workshop. The column is integrated with interior lighting and various scenarios that change throughout the day, becoming the central element of the space.

The technical implementation of the project involved the integration of all systems into the Cloud Control cloud platform, which is controlled using a special application that allows you to easily change scenarios and adapt the atmosphere of the space to the needs of guests.

Statement of Impact: The project creates a unique emotional experience for visitors, combining the historical atmosphere of the building with modern technology. Custom lighting solutions highlight architectural details and materials, making the restaurant a comfortable and inspiring place to be. This is an example of how integrating innovative lighting design can enhance the cultural and emotional value of a space for the community and visitors to the city.
