The Miiro Le Grand Hôtel Cayré stands as a testament to the seamless integration of history and contemporary sophistication. Located in the heart of the 7th arrondissement, this iconic hotel underwent a transformative renovation that preserved its heritage while embracing cutting-edge design and technology.

This Parisian gem was Hoare Lea’s second venture with the Miiro hotel group, building upon the principles and lessons learnt from Borneta Barcelona. From the grand lobby to the intimate guest rooms, the lighting design enhances the architectural details and creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. Michaelis Boyd worked hand in hand with Hoare Lea and the client to revitalise Parisian chic without veering into the cliché; the result of which can be felt in the sumptuous yet modern aesthetic that permeates the public areas and all 123 bedrooms.

The hotel’s brand-new dining spaces, including a renowned restaurant Annette, are illuminated to enhance the culinary experience, drawing on the transformative nature of the classic brassiere. Dynamic lighting scenes adapt to the time of day, transitioning from a lively, sunlit breakfast atmosphere to a romantic, softly lit dinner setting. The bar area features subtly backlit antique mirror, walnut shelving with integrated linear lighting, and softly glowing decorative table and wall lights that together create a special sense of romance and intimacy.

Even the main staircase, lovingly restored from its original, is given special attention; the team collaborated to design a bespoke glass chandelier that spans the entirety of the hotel’s seven guestroom floors.
