Passalacqua is an opulent 18th-century aristocrats’ home on the shores of Lake Como that has been transformed into a unique hotel. Its 24 characterful guest accommodations are spread across three magnificently restored edifices, surrounded by seven acres of landscaped gardens that descend to a private jetty.

The hotel, restaurant, secret gallery, SPA and gardens are open exclusively to Passalacqua guests. Running beneath the gardens lies a secret gallery, excavated in the 18th century. Was it a service passageway or the facilitator of some romantic tryst? We may never know, but one thing is certain. Passalacqua’s sauna and steam bath seem made for the gallery’s vaulted stone chamber. But that’s only the beginning. A little further on, this underground realm opens out into a rock-hewn relaxation area and the heated indoor pool, a secret world of stone, water and light that gives onto the Italian gardens.

The secret gallery connects 2 different areas of the spa, and takes guests from sauna area to pool area. The lighting design project take inside all of these 3 elements: stone, water, light. The custom TUBULAR lights are hand made in tuscany, with a specific design (direct & indirect light), direct to sing path and indirect to valorise stone vault. double spot light 2700K IP65, design to avoid any glare to guest that walk inside the secret gallery. Only one lighting element repeted to create this show, with a fix interdistance. High of installation define to avoid glare and create water lighting effect on the stone. Only artifical light to create emotion. Silence, simplicity, elegance, compliant to PASSALACQUA STYLE.
