Thanos (Athanassios) Danilof is an architectural Lighting Designer and Consultant working exclusively in this field since 2005.

He is currently leading the Athens-based studio Danilof light + perception, working in lighting projects across multiple scales and typologies. Some of the studio’s projects have received international lighting awards and honourable mentions.

Thanos completed the MSc in Light & Lighting at the Bartlett School of Graduate Studies, UCL in 2004. He also holds an MSc and BEng(Hons) from the School of Engineering & Design of Brunel University London.

In parallel to his professional activities and before focusing entirely on his professional practice, Thanos has conducted research in the field of Urban Lighting History and Design Theory as a PhD. Candidate at the School of Architecture of the National Technical University of Athens.

He has given talks in architectural lighting conferences and events internationally (PLDC Rome, AL awards New York, LED Forum Sao Paulo, IALD Japan Tokyo).
