This category celebrates the best in creative lighting design for any exterior architectural lighting schemes including:

• building façades
• monument
• sports stadia
• bridges


VIEW ENTRIES

The category is split into Low and High budget.

Low budget means any project where the luminaires specified is less than £30,000 (not including control equipment).
High budget means any project where the luminaires specified is more than £30,000 (not including control equipment).

Projects must have been completed later than May 31st 2016.

Deadline is June 17th 2017 (But don’t leave it too late! To take advantage of the darc award’s unique format enter as soon as possible to get your project displayed online and to get a free profile page on the website.

Please note, decorative lighting projects and products (chandeliers, pendants etc) should not be entered into the architectural awards and should be entered into the decorative awards that will be open for entries later in the year with an awards ceremony in May 2018.

BEST LIGHT ART SCHEME


This category refers to any type of art installation where the main medium of expression is light. Can include permanent or temporary projects (such as individual installations in festivals of light or guerilla lighting events). It cannot include a collection of installations that make up the entirety of the event. This should be entered into the EVENT category below.

BEST CREATIVE LIGHTING EVENT


This category refers to any temporary event or temporary collection of installations where the main medium of expression is light (such as festivals of light, workshops or guerrilla lighting events) should be entered by the event organisers. There is no Low or High Budget option in this category.

Projects must have been completed later than January 1st 2017.

Deadline is June 17th 2017 (But don’t leave it too late! To take advantage of the darc award’s unique format enter as soon as possible to get your project displayed online and to get a free profile page on the website).

BEST ARCHITECTURAL LIGHTING PRODUCTS


This category is split into three sub-categories:

• Interior Luminaires
• Exterior Luminaires
• Technology


VIEW ENTRIES

The Interior Luminaire category refers to any architectural luminaire designed to be used in a system to illuminate in an indoor environment. Decorative luminaires such as pendants, chandeliers and floor standing fittings are not eligible and should be entered into the darc decorative awards which will take place in May 2017.

The Exterior Luminaire category refers to any luminaire designed to be used in a system to illuminate in an outdoor environment.

The Technology category refers to light sources, control systems and Internet-based systems where a luminaire is not part of the product offering.

Products must have been launched later than May 31st 2017.
